DIRECTIONS: Directions to Trailhead: From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, go North on San Pedro Road for 3.7 miles to the Miwok Meadows Group Area. Park along the main road near the gate to Miwok Meadows.
DETAILS: THE FINE PRINT: This is the best hike for exploring China Camp State Park and the historic village as well as one with spectacular views. The hike itself is about 5.5 miles and shaded roughly 70% of the time. The actual difficulty of the hike is minimal as there is little elevation change and clean, clear trails abound. About the only hazards possible are bicycles and poison oak, barring a sudden twister off the plains of Kansas.
